The sun drops, and the moon rises on a chilly night.
The waiting is almost over, just a few short hours to go.
A little boy sits next to the brilliant Christmas tree.
He surveys his options, struggling to choose the one.
Mom was nice enough to let her son open one present.
There are many different shapes and sizes of gifts with his name.
How is it possible to pick just one for this imaginative boy?
The first choice he makes is to open one of the smaller gifts.
The excitement of the larger gifts is all too tempting,
But the boy wants to save it for the actual Christmas day.
He asks daddy if he can open the gift he has selected.
With a grand smile, his father tells him it’s alright and watches.
His parents hug and smile as they watch their son zealously start.
He tears through the wrapping little by little, trying to savor it.
The gleam in his eye is a unique vision that is irreplaceable.
Christmas starts early, and no family could be happier than this one.
